This is a new video of Bruce's 1992 parody song which parallels the media saturation regarding Woody Allen's breakup with Mia Farrow and his affair with her adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn.Woody & Soon-Yi are still together but at the time the story broke, the nation was divided between those who saw the relationship of 60 year old Allen and 25 year old Previn as true love conquering all and those who saw it as improper, even immoral. The parody song was played many times in '92 & '93 on the Dr. Demento and Jim Bohannon radio shows, and was featured on a "basement tapes" edition of Dr. Demento's.The background parts were recorded by Bruce one-at-a-time and mixed down from his 4-track cassette deck, including multiple overdubs of Bruce playing "vocal trumpets." This video has Bruce singing live and playing his Les Paul electric guitar over his old background tracks.A year after first recording this parody song, Bruce resumed his career as a lawyer which he had put on hold for 20 years to record and perform music. He continues to record audios and videos of his parodies and originals while holding down his day job as a lawyer for Sun Microsystems in Northern California's Silicon Valley.High res video/stereo audio version of this song and other of Bruce's tunes available for free download at Bruce's podcast site: http://loosebrucekerr.libsyn.comThe original song it's based on is "Frankie and Johnny," which wikipedia says is either a song from around 1900, or actually may go back to about 1830. It tells the story of a woman who catches a man in flagrante delicto (ok, the lyric doesn't say that) and so shoots him. He probably said, "Ok, I cheated, big deal, so shoot me." And she did.email Bruce at BKerrLaw@aol.com
