Episode #38, originally aired 7/1/1953. Brad decides to leave the judicial system and go into business because he feels he is cheating Joan out of the finer things in life. Directed by Marc Daniels. This is one of the series' better episodes. It has it all: a timeless message ("To thine own self be true"), some great guest stars (the lovely and talented Shirley Mitchell and the hysterical Joe Besser), Joan at her physical best, and Jim Backus strutting his stuff as the comic (he usually played Joan's straight man, but in this episode they reverse roles in a very funny dream sequence.) Part 1 sets up the conflict. At the end of this part Brad decides to become a business executive, much to Joan's chagrin.
