While GoOFF.com is ran by a single person, me, I plan on focusing more time towards the site AND game play. Since I’m just a lonely Dwarf Hunter I am asking others to help out in the coming weeks. MoP Beta has been out for some time and gamers should have some fairly decent Macros and Screen shots by now. I will be adding a Transmorgification gallery along with asking the community to submit any MoP macros they find or have created.

Discussion on Brining Achievements to the Account Level

Ghostcrawler for once has an article I didn’t mind reading which is Bringing Achievements to the Account Level for your Warcraft account. This is by far one of the best ideas, that I complained about years go, in the upcoming expansion. Time will only tell if it truly makes the cut.

Basically the short version is if you earn achievements on one character all your others will get it. The idea behind it is so that players aren’t focused on playing one character over another. This rings true for me as my first character was a Warlock because they were sort of like Magicians in EverQuest where I came from during the BETA phase. While playing my Warlock I started a Hunter to goof off with and fell in love. I decided to use him to start gathering all the mounts, pets and achievements in the game rather than waste time repeating the same advancements 10 times…

We recently added account-level changes to achievements in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, and there’s still a lot of work left before we’re done. The plan here is to illustrate the intent behind our design, which should in turn help you figure out the answers to many of your questions.

Overall, we never want you to play Character A instead of Character B because of achievement concerns. If Character A had the Violet Proto-Drake, then you might not play Character B. If Character A was only one holiday away from the Violet Proto-Drake, then you may not play Character B. If Character A had completed most of the raid achievements from Dragon Soul, you may not want to bring Character B for one fight and miss out on the achievement. Having alts is cool and working on achievements is cool, but we don’t want the two systems to work against each other.

This goal is paramount and drives everything else. If we allowed you to earn extra achievement points from completing an achievement on two different characters, then you might only want to play the character with the most points and you’d feel like you had to grind through all the achievements with every alt, thus defeating the purpose of having account-level achievements.

Most achievements are account-wide
This means you only earn the points once. If you have earned an achievement on one character, you can see it on all your characters. However, and this is important, you will still see the achievement toast (the pop-up notification) if a second or subsequent character completes the achievement. We think it’s still important to recognize milestones like reaching level 80, maxing out a profession, or killing a raid boss for the first time. It’s fun to have everyone congratulate you when you get the toast. Nonetheless, this will just be a new character of yours completing the achievement that you’ve already earned on your account. You won’t double up on points.

Most criteria are not account-wide
If you start an achievement on one character, you can’t then finish the achievement on another (there are exceptions, so please keep reading). We didn’t think it made sense for one character to get level 60 and another to get level 20 and then see the “level 80″ achievement toast. If you start to explore Thousand Needles on one character, you’ll probably want to finish that achievement on the same character.

Some achievements are “meta achievements.”
These are achievements that require you to get other specific achievements. An infamous example is “What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been.” These achievements generally ARE account-wide. If one character earned Noble Gardener and another character earned The Flame Warden, then your account would get Long Strange Trip. (Otherwise it would be weird: it would look as if you had the sub-achievements, but you wouldn’t have the meta-achievement). Even though you need Explore Thousand Needles on one character, all of your characters can contribute to Explore Kalimdor.

A few achievements are account-only.
There are two categories of account-only achievements. One is achievements that are not possible to earn on one character. If we made an achievement to level every class to level 90, it would be account-only. (I’m not sure we will, but it’s a good example.) The other category are achievements that are just brutal to complete on one character (and you’d never want to do for multiples), such as 2500 daily quests or 250K honorable kills. In these cases, the cumulative work of all your characters on those criteria will count.

We hope that rewards granted from achievements (pets, mounts, titles, and tabards) will be shared at the account level.
I’m not going to promise this yet, because a lot of magic has to happen for that to work, but it’s our intent. We have discussed having a character level requirement for some rewards, so that your level-2 gnome couldn’t walk around with the “Defender of a Shattered World” title just because your level-90 shaman earned it. If the gnome made it to level 80, though, you could proudly show off your title. You also won’t be able to use a faction-specific pet, mount, or title on the wrong faction. The achievement wouldn’t go away — you just wouldn’t be able to show it off on that character. There are probably additional exceptions and details we’ll find as we dig deeper into the system.
This is the kind of system that will evolve over time, and we don’t think this has to be the way achievements work forever. As beta players start experimenting with it and offering feedback, I am certain that we will end up making even more changes.

What Happens When Some Guy Has 38 Warcraft Accounts?

You Die, a lot

So as I have stated many times my Battle group sucks, thanks Blizzard, and here is a little something else to add to the sucking mix. This is what my end screen looked like once AV was over. This was one of the longest AV matches since vanilla. Some douche has 38 warcraft accounts which breaks down to 1 controller and 37 bots. I would say he has an even 40 if I had to guess but at this time there were only 38 accounts signed in to our AV battle. This guys account comes to around $570 a month just to play warcraft, can you say bored?

Here is how it goes down for this AV battle. 40 people stacked dead center on top of each other = massive video lag. One minute they are there and the next “POOF” vanished. I would say 90% of our group was lagged out. We took all the towers and Galv but he turtled at Drek slowly killing off our resources. In the end we had Drek down to 2% before losing all our resources.

I did however manage to get 19 million damage this battle ground on my rogue along with 38 deaths and one lame ass killing blow.

Noblegarden Event Swift Springstrider Mount

A new mount called the Swift Springstrider has been added to the Noblegarden Event which takes place in the month of April from the 8th to the 15th. The mount is obtainable by looting 500 Chocolates from Brightly Colored Eggs AND there is a rare chance to get it from within a Brightly Colored Egg. I haven’t looked up the percentage yet but I did get one from an egg before I competed gathering 500 chocolates. What sucks is that they are BOP which means I can’t sell the other

Sick of non-rated battlegrounds loaded with full pre-mades

I mean come the hell on. Do you suck that bad in Rated BGs that you have to stomp all over puny non-rated BGs? Illidan is the worse for this. That must be the most over populated server around, which sucks for me as I am on the most under populated server. At any given time there is maybe 3-4 of each class on the total server. It’s bad enough I get teamed up with half wits that stop in awe at a Boomkin.

Mysterious Camel Figurine – Camel Mount

Mysterious Camel Figurine is a rare item that spawns in Uldum and has a small chance of porting you to a rare which drops a camel mount. I have only been able to find a handful which all resorted in 25 gold dust. None the less I keep trying and wanted to post some information for others searching.

One of the better posts on WoWhead talked about an add-on called Routes. I installed the add-on and must say I like it better than TomTom and a couple others I’ve used in the past. Since I’m using Routes the following information pertains only to it at this time.

Download Routes from Curse.com and install
Log into WoW and type /routes to open the interface
Click on Add, create name and call it Mysterious Camel Figurine, then click on Create Bare Route
Next exit the game and locate your Warcraft installation folder
Inside it locate your WTF folder
Inside the WTF folder locate another folder called SavedVariables
Inside your SavedVariable folder is a file called Routes.lua
Edit that file and add the following code below:

What this will do is generate a flight path for you to follow. Make sure you have _NPC scan installed as well with the Rare Mob number of 50410. Since there is a lot of discussion about other numbers I went ahead and added 50409 and 50411 to my list.

Heart of the Aspects Mount Now Available

Today Blizzard released another store mount called Heart of the Aspects. Here is a bit of info from Blizzards selling page regarding the mount.

When attacking from the air, it’s best to advance from the angle of the sun so as to blind your foes… Or just ride a luminous dragon that glows like a thousand suns. Either way, you’re good.
